About Us
Ingrid
This profile covers the past 18 years of Ingrid Diesel's career at Fancourt, a career which involved her being at the helm of the resort for this time.
Ingrid held the position of Chief Executive Officer for a period of 15 years, and recently made a major change in her career to start her own Consulting and Events company.
Ingrid started at Fancourt in 1991, working as the Personal Assistant to the Chairman and the Managing Director of the company. Following Fancourt's liquidation (as part of the collapse of the Masterbond group of companies in 1992), and the departure of the Chairman and the Managing Director, Ingrid worked closely with the Liquidators of the Resort, and hence became fully involved with the prospective purchasers, involving feasibility studies, development plans etc.
Following the take-over of new owners in 1994, Ingrid was appointed to the position of Chief Executive Officer.
The resort has grown extensively, and Ingrid has played the main leading role in this growth. The pressure of managing a staff of 700 on an estate of 800 ha, and development costs which totalled over R850m, became a way of life for Ingrid, one which has developed into her most valued asset. Ingrid has built a vast network of professional and business relationships along the way, which will be of great value in future projects.
Ingrid's responsibilities covered the operation of the entire Resort, and her extensive experience and involvement in a developing resort, which includes a 150 bedroom hotel (with conference centre and health & beauty spa), 4 golf courses and real estate, has given her an in-depth knowledge of what it takes to become the Best Resort in the World (awarded to Fancourt in December 2003 by IAGTO - the International Association of Golf Tour Operators).
Ingrid reported directly to the shareholders of the company, and had a team of 10 executives reporting directly to her, including the project development team.
